Cards now on my website (LINK IN BIO) for those of you that can’t make it along this Saturday 7th December at the @hugoburgefoundation Christmas Market in the Scottish Borders. If you’re around please come and see us! Storm Bert put us off 2 weeks ago but we’re back! Loads of makers and food and music. And twinkly lights!

As well as cards I’ll have a collection of framed and unframed paintings and some studio bargains too. I’ll also be adding small paintings to the website soon. Send me a message if you’re after anything in particular. 🎨

I’m going to make some cards again this year in time for all things festive with a couple of new paintings in greetings card form. Packs of 5 with one of each of the images featured here. They will be available at the Christmas Market @hugoburgefoundation next Saturday 23 Nov with an array of small framed and unframed paintings for sale. 🎄

Let me know if you want to buy some cards but won’t be able to come to the Christmas market. This will help with my maths! They are priced at £15 for 5 square format cards with envelopes - blank inside and with the name of the painting and my name on the reverse. P&P £1.50 UK only.
Each card is printed on card manufactured from trees grown in sustainable forests. They should be on my website by next weekend too. 🎄🌳🎨

My wonderful dad died one month ago today. The saddest of times and not one that’s easy to share but important to say. From the moment he was gone we have missed him. He was the most excellent fun. Thank you to everyone who has sent messages of support to my mum and to my sisters and to me. It has meant so much. Thanks too to the hundreds of former pupils that meant that dad went viral on Facebook for a few days last month. It made us laugh through the tears reading all the hilarious stories and anecdotes and wonderful tributes from our school days and knowing how much he was respected and loved. His funeral was a lovely day despite being so incredibly heartbreaking for our family. I think he would have liked it. Thank you to everyone that travelled so far to be there and there were so so many of you! Dad made a big impression on lots of people. He was the life and soul of every gathering and we will always always miss him.

Lovely day and gorgeous lunch @the_palmerston - good photos and the kilt stayed in place despite the Edinburgh gale force winds which played havoc with hair. I’ve been very absent on here for many reasons.

I’ve been very absent on here for many reasons. One of the reasons is practical because we have moved from our wonderful house and studio of 20 years in the Scottish Borders. A place where we brought up our three wondrous kids. And a place where we hosted many a family and friends gathering. Our street (actually more of a lane) was called Clouds in the wonderful town of Duns and it’s hard to leave a place called Clouds and nowhere will ever be the same again. We have sold it to a family who love it (a lot) and that’s good. A lot of other things have happened too in the last few months which I’m not quite ready to talk about. That’s not for now. But in the now we live in East Linton and adjusting to life in a new house and a big renovation project and the first thing that will be sorted is the studio which is a lovely space. I’ve half moved in and can’t wait to share it. It will be the first part of this project to get sorted as I have commissions and exhibition work I need to get underway. Windows required!!

We started our family life in North Berwick not far from here so after a 20 year jaunt to the wondrous Scottish Borders which will be forever a special place we are back in East Lothian and closer to ‘Embra’, our children and parents and siblings which is a good move. A new chapter.

I’m excited to share progress of the journey along the way. Watch this space. We have a lot to do and a lot of boxes which at the moment don’t fit. It’s. A bit like living in Minecraft. But that just doesn’t matter. The pics here are pics I took as we moved out. God I loved those stairs. But it was a catastrophe if you made it to the kitchen and realised your specs were upstairs which happened to my dad every time he stayed with us. ♥️
