During lockdown 2020 a group of freelance artists and educators collaborated to produce an activity zine for children and young people called Mushroom. We each contributed a page and partnered with the Royal Hospital for Sick Kids to distribute copies.

Mushroom 2 is out now with loads of activities on the theme of Spring all devised by artists and this time we are partnering with WHALE Arts in Edinburgh. You can also buy copies from https://katetemple.bigcartel.com/products

All proceeds go towards producing the next zine and working with another community partner.

Return to Light at Coast Gallery, Dunbar

I have some new work with Coast Gallery in Dunbar for their re-opening exhibition ‘Return to Light’.

The exhibition will open online at first and then open to the public when restrictions ease on 26th April.

Well worth a visit and a lovely curated collection of work by Scottish artists.

Cameron Contemporary Art have highlighted my new collection of paintings in their online viewing room ahead of the gallery reopening on 12th April. There is also a short interview about my inspirations and painting practice and a short film made in my studio about my work.

4x4x4 Borders for the SSA

I have been involved in making a short film about my work for the Society of Scottish Artists (SSA) 4x4x4 series, alongside 3 other Scottish Borders based artists. We each had to talk for 4 minutes and base our talks around 4 images of our work. It was a real challenge but also quite fun to do. And we upped our tech game along the way!

Visual Artist Award Bursary

Happy to have been awarded a Visual Artist Award bursary from Creative Scotland, Live Borders, Dumfries and Galloway and Creative Arts and Business Network.

I am going to create two large scale circular paintings to extend and resolve the work I did as part of the Marchmont Creative Spaces residency. I am hoping to exhibit these works as part of the Marchmont Open Studios event in early May 2021.

Artist Residency at Marchmont House

Delighted to hear that I have been awarded the first Marchmont Creative Spaces residency in the Tower Studio at Marchmont House in the Scottish Borders in association with Borders Art Fair.

I get to have a much-needed change of scene and work in the beautiful Tower studio which is part of the growing artist community at Marchmont House.

Can’t wait to get started.
